I have had the fever for Henrik Vibskov ever since, I caught this Danish designer’s show at Copenhagen Fashion Week. I am a fashion editor who still get thrills going to shows. Mr. Vibskov gives you the desire to put your phone down and just watch the show. Complete with innovative ways to present his art as a designer. For the Henrik Vibskov Fall/Winter 2017 show at Paris Fashion Week Mens, we went backstage to capture all the small details. The designer pays attention to details that might not be visible to the naked eye. Danish designer Henrik Vibskov continues to intrigue us with his experiments with texture and structure. Dubbed “The Five O’Clock Leg Alignment,” the collection previewed top-to-bottom clown-like vertical-striped outfits with corkscrew earmuffs. The designers of today, are really into creating clothes for their set of warriors and followers. It is like more of anthropological garments. People can now be categorized by their clothes and what tribe they belong too. Tribalism is definitely a trend the designer followed. We want to be identified as other and Henrik Vibskov agrees with these notions. Vibskov is influenced by travel and different tribes of people. The collection consisted of tops with coral reef motifs, sweaters with suprematist designs, and on to puffy, oversized outwear. For next season for both men and women’s garments are oversized and made to protect you from anytime type of weather. The conceptual designer, uses his artistic approach to fashion as a way to bring art to the runway with a new type of business mans suit.If you did not know Henrik Vibskov has produced over 30 men’s (and later also women’s) collections since he graduated from Central St. Martins in 2001. A member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Mode Masculine he is currently the only Scandinavian designer on the official show schedule of the Paris Men’s Fashion Week, which he has been since January 2003. Artists and musicians such as, M.I.A., Björk, The Arctic Monkeys, Sigur Ros, Franz Ferdinand, Lou Reed, LCD Soundsystem or Devendra Banhart have been spotted in Henrik Vibskov’s designs. The collections are sold through thoroughly selected shops across the globe and his own Henrik Vibskov stores in Copenhagen and New York.
