Healthy April No Fool: Go Away Puffy Panda Eyes
Eyes are the first thing people see when they look at your face, I assume. Looking back at my pictures, I see the most significant sign of exhaustion under my eyes. Not enough sleep, stress, dehydrating, or a natural process of ageing, changes my whole appearance. After searching for the right product to pamper my eyes, I was recommended by a friend for Vichy Aqualia eye roll-on. After researching, I found out that the product is replaced by the brand’s newest eye balm. Without hesitation, I tried it.
I don’t have an extreme problem with dark circle or wrinkles, just yet. However, I have puffy eyes as if I didn’t sleep or have been crying all night. With light-reflecting elements in foundation and concealer, it looks even puffier in photos. That’s the first thing I want to get rid of, before I need to fight with other sign of ageing. Don’t get me wrong, I know and accept that I will look different. It’s human nature. However, I want to look healthy even with signs of ageing. When I reach 40s, I know there will be lines on my face. My bottom line is to be a young looking mom. Yes, a mom.
One golden rule when selecting beauty product is the presence of moisturizing ingredient. As I believe, hydration is the most natural way to heal or pamper your skin. Whatever I apply to my skin, it must be moisturizing. No matter how humidity the weather is, your skin still needs to be moisturized. Poor water circulation in your face is one of the main reasons for the loss of your skin’s ‘fresh’ look. The Aqualia Thermal collection contains the highest concentration of Vichy Thermal SpaWater, the ingredient of choice to fortify and soothe sensitive skin. Aqualia Awakening Eye Balm, with an association of Hyaluronic Acid + Aquabioryl + λ Carragheenans, and caffeine, promotes hydration around the delicate eye area, restoring optimal and even hydration. One interesting ingredient is caffeine. I have heard a lot of dark eye circle healing product contain caffeine. Some even recommended to use your leftover tea bag on your eyes as an eye mask in the morning. It offers stimulating and energising properties to help drain under eye bags and lids where the water has built up, as quoted by VICHY.
Review: AQUALIA THERMAL AWAKENING EYE BALM, £ 15
- Two consecutive weeks, applied product twice a day: morning and night.
- Same sleeping routine; 7-8 hours of sleep, starts around midnight.
- Took photos with natural light, same angle and location every 7th day without makeup and retouching.
- The photos show changes on my eye bag, slightly change for the redness of my inner corner
- It works! What else you need?
- No irritation
- Gel-like texture, easy to apply
- Hydrating sensation after use
- I wish it still has the roll-on feature. The coolness of the metallic rolling ball feels more refreshing on my eyes than my finger.
Score: 4.5/ 5
*I’m sorry for the messy eyebrow, but it means that I really took the photo the first thing in the morning (after wearing contacts) without any grooming, so there’s no bias on product reviewing.
*Images colours were adjusted due to an unequal amount of natural light.
