Five Fashion Items for the Style Editor on the Go

Now that winter has finally come I realize I have nothing to wear and after one hour at the sales I could not take the shops. I went back to online shopping, because its easy and more peaceful. I just cannot take the crowds and the security checks. London Fashion week is coming and I have no time for lines. I do miss going to Selfridges, but luckily there is Selfridges&

Five Fashion Items for the Style Editor on the Go

This fashion editor will hit 5 fashion cities next month. You might wonder how will I do it ? My question is always what to pack.? Many of the fashion capitals go from cold to colder and rain or snow is always in the forecast. We can only hope in the end Paris will have an early spring. I cannot afford overweight luggage when travelling that is why I only pack key pieces. Of course when I went to the Selfridges&Co website I found the they were waiting for me. They asked the question: If you had to wear just 10 items for the next 30 days, what would you choose? Perfect timing for this Style Editor on the go because I will be on the road for the next 30 days straight.

Selfridges&Co have a New Year’s resolution and it is to buy less and wear more. A great way to encourage people like me to shop wisely. Believe it or not this has been my mantra since last year. I only have enough clothing for one rolling rack! The retailer has compiled a shortlist of their top 10 keep-forever pieces that offer endless styling possibilities for 2016. I choose five to help narrow down the list even more.

I had to make an edit of their selections to fit my life style. My first choice is a THE MULTI-TASKING COAT. For me since I will be flying most of the time the problem is always what coat to take? I need a coat that can double as a blanket. Selfridges&Co has it covered, and they suggest pale pink almost salmon coloured Max Mara number. You can wear it f two ways, doubling its outfit-finishing potential. Wear it in soft grey for relaxed, everyday looks; then swap for its toffee-hued counterpart when you want to make more of a statement because during fashion week you do not want to be seen in the same thing twice.

As I write this article temperatures have dropped and nothing is more comfy than a cashmere jumper. This piece of clothing is a must have for winter. If you still have not found the right sweater here is our suggestion because nobody does staple knitwear quite like Theory. This lightweight cashmere jumper is the perfect partner for your favourite off-duty jeans or dressed up with leather trousers and standout heels. Plus, it’s so exquisitely soft, this multi-tasking top doubles as seriously luxurious loungewear.

I have a thing for anything Chloé, because it just spells feminine. Just look at it! It’s practical and fashionable. The new Chloé Faye has room enough for the most important items in your purse, passport, lipstick, keys, phone and charges. It can be worn as a shoulder bag, it’s deceptively roomy, with ample space for your daily essentials. You can remove the strap and – voilà – you have a super-chic clutch for evening ensembles. The Leopard print goes with everything and instantly livens up a neutral outfit with nonchalant ease. Practical for a fashion editor on the go, or any every day bag for a women who has plenty of appointments.

Listen up ladies, every women needs at least a few white shirt in her wardrobe. The right white shirt can last you a life time and trends. A great white shirt forms the backbone of any capsule wardrobe –Selfridges&Co top pick isn’t just any white shirt. This beautiful creation from Jil Sander fuses feminine ruffles (big news for SS16) with a crisp masculine collar, catapulting it straight to the top of our wish list. Time to add a ruffled shirt to you collection, because ruffles are big this season and this shirt can take you from winter to spring.

Last but not least a great pair of fitting jeans. Jeans are the ultimate item for a traveling fashionista because all you need is different tops, to change-up your look. The holy grail of black jeans, J Brand’s bestselling Maria skinnies are now available in Seriously Black stretch denim, which comes with a no-fade guarantee, no matter how many times you wash them. Throw in a flattering high-rise fit, a sculpted silhouette, and what do you get? A bona fide key player in your capsule wardrobe. To insure they do not change colour always turn you jeans inside out before wash and let them get dirty. You really should only wash your jeans once a month.

I hope you enjoyed my edit of Selfridges&Co capsule wardrobe choses with our Five Fashion Items for the Style Editor on the Go. Follow us on Instagram to see how we styled these key looks on our fashion travels.
