We are looking for the hippest, most beautiful places, the best hotels and the most delicious restaurants, so if your headed to southern Italy on vacation here are some of our favorite places to check out. In order to see as much as possible, we only stay one night in one place, which makes our trip quite adventurous.

Our destination for the 3rd of August was Casa Angelinaa wonderful lifestyle hotel set along the sheer-sided  Amalfi coast. Our trip  started in Napoli and  we decided to take a road trip took,  we drove through the mountains, which by the way had  a breathtaking view over the coast. We made a pit stop in a little village, located right next to the sea.

After a quick stop to soak up the village sites, a quick dip  in the bluest of  oceans and due Espressi later we continued our adventure along the coast headed toward Casa Angelina. The 15 kilometers to Casa Angelina took us along the coast, with more  picture postcard moments of the landscape.   We began to soak ourselves up in the Italian countryside and begin to ask  ourselves  if we were dreaming…

What  can I  say about Casa Angelina?

It is the place to become Zen, there is definitely no better way to relax. The aesthetic white, clean design creates this peaceful atmosphere, no matter where you go.

On our way to Casa Angelina we met someone who said, the place is very quiet, but perfect if you are in LOVE.

The surroundings wake up that inner  child and beg you to peal off the corporate suite and reminds you that you are on vacation and thoughts of leaving that world behind come to mind. Yes Casa Angelina is all about perfection and harmony, but not only…LOVE has inspired its creator.

Love is in the air at this exclusive place, part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.  The Design is respectful of the mountains beauty, creative paintings chosen with style highlight the architectures’ purity and last but not least, service is just a kindness cartel.

The hotel overlooks miles of blue Mediterranean sea from its cliff-edge perch in Praiano.

Knockout views are matched by cool interiors at this hip little hideaway. At our arrival we were still sitting in the car while 4 people from the hotel were there to  welcome us  and help us with our luggage. Once you arrive at Casa Angelina, you will be offered fresh cold lemon water and almond milk and the lovely staff will give you a guide through the hotel. Natural wood parquet floors, white – paneled baths, white desks bedding and walls and Murano glass sculptures are the signature of this beautiful place on “heaven earth”.

Our little cloud, room 111, is called the Romantic Sea View Room. It is an elegant and intimate room, ideal for honeymooners or for guests with a special wish for privacy. As soon as we entered our little oasis with a private balcony including the stunning sea view, someone knocked on the door. Casa Angelina brought a little present from the house…

Every room features Philippe Starck furniture, netbooks & Bang Olufsen Flatscreens and Nespresso machines in every room.

Definitely to be loved is the equipment of L’Occitane en Provence products in the room for the perfection of your well being, I am a big fan of all their products.HotelReviewAngelina6

After this perfect, kind of unreal arrival we took a walk to the beach. 200 stairs down later we arrived at the beach club with a jetset atmosphere, great music, drinks, Italian cuisine, sun chairs and towels.

We jumped in the ocean, snorkeled for an hour, swam with the fish… and enjoyed the sunset view over the hills on the way back to our room and ready for the next experience of Casa Angelina. While dining in the dream location, Casa Angelina’s RestaurantUn Piano nel Cielo” (A story on the sky) on their beautiful rooftop, which offers territorial gastronomy that leaves every Gourmand speechless.

The Chef will delight your senses with his little assiduity while dining…

As starters we choose the “Fish trilogy  with Stewed Squid, Bon Bon of Scampi, Prawns on Avocado and Mozzarella mousse and the Buffalo’s Carpaccio marinated with Citrus, Mozzarella cream and curly Endive and as main courses the Mixed Pasta with purple Potatoes and Sea food & Mixed grilled Fish with Mediterranean dressing. The desert was a special compilation of Napolitean Dolcis.

Also worth mentioning is the special list of waters from all over the world and the fine selection of wines. Our choice was the delicious Iceberg Water and the local Rosato Costa d’Amalfi Ravello 2011.

The dishes are normally not available in any restaurant, so be ready for an exclusive adventure of your senses, especially made for you by the Chef.

But I am not finished with the food section, let me tell you our special experience at the breakfast. As we heard, the guests of Casa Angelina say, that the breakfast is one of their highlights during their stay.

The buffet is overwhelming, you will find the finest selection of succulent seasonal fresh fruits, home-made pastries, freshly-squeezed fruit juices and a outstanding selection of cheese. Our favourites were the delicious eggs and bacon, the cheese selection, especially the mozzarella the pastries and the cappuccino. The rooftop will let you start perfectly in the with a long lazy breakfast, and again you get the feeling of sitting on a cloud.

At the pool deck we found our perfect relaxation for the rest of the day before our journey to the south of Italy, continued towards Lecce and the review of the another Hotel & their wonderful rooftop restaurant..

Plus we discovered a place on earth by hazard, a hidden place on the mountains, a old city built 1500 years ago..

If you are curious, stay tuned for our next posts about our Italy roadtrip!
