London Date Night Recommendations
Meet us at the London Date Night Recommendation Hyde Lobby Bar, at Royal Lancaster London. The Holidays are over and it is time to get back to dating and making plans for Valentines Day. Can you believe it? One holiday is gone and here comes the heartbreaker? If you are looking for a place to go with the girls or take your new love we have the place for you. Hyde Lobby Bar, at Royal Lancaster London. Yes, this place in a modern-day speakeasy with cocktails that do not disappoint. The ladies and I had a wild night here in our pursuit of some of the coolest new places in London to get kinky and wild. This place is buzzing like the beehives on the roof and beehive interiors.
Launched on Wednesday 8 November 2017, the Hyde Lobby Bar, situated a stone’s throw from Hyde Park, is set to become one of the most exciting additions to London’s drinking and dining scene. Royal Lancaster London has been the talk of the town this autumn following its £80 million renovations. The Hyde Lobby Bar, a brand new addition to the hotel, will be the prime spot to “see and be seen” in London.

The cocktail menu has been meticulously created and includes signature cocktails to reflect the history of the iconic hotel. The Great Gats-bee features Chivas 18, cherry brandy and honey syrup collected from the hotel’s very own rooftop honey farm (£12); while The Italian Job cocktail is made with Beefeater 24 Gin, Martini Rosso, Campari and Aperol (£12) – a salute to the original 1968 Italian Job film which included scenes filmed in front of Royal Lancaster London. For a touch of extra indulgence, the hotel has created its own aromatic Royal Lancaster Gin which will be served in the bar’s speciality Gin Martini (£12).
On our girls night out here we had a little too much to drink and should have eaten more from there taster menu before we indulged in too much Gin. Lucky enough the cocktail waitress took care of us and the clientele was upscale, so there was no miss behaving happening. Yet, we concluded we would love to come back dressed a little more sexy with our boyfriends on Valentines Day. We also recommend this place highly for first dates. The atmosphere is safe and the bar staff understand the codes of a first date and are ready to rescue you if something goes left.
Now back to all the fun and drinks you can have at this upscale watering hole. Enticing light lunch dishes that change seasonally include Seared rare beef with spring onion and sweet soya dressing (£10); Royal Lancaster London smoked salmon, rye toast, confit lemon and salmon keta (£9); and Seared tuna with avocado and crispy seaweed (£10). Scottish lobster and crayfish cocktail, quail egg and caviar (£20) also grace the menu.
Glorious sweets feature delights such as homemade Macaroons (£6 for three); the Éclair of the day (£4); a Trio of tarts (£6) and dressed Buttermilk Scones (£5 each). We tried it all and it was scrumptious! The Royal Lancaster London opened as one of the capital’s most chic hotels in 1967. 50 years later, every aspect of the Hyde Lobby Bar has been tailored to reflect the hotel’s rich and celebrated past.
The venue has masterfully combined classic 1960’s decor with contemporary style, with white marble enveloping the space and a centrepiece brass chandelier. Leather banquet-style seating, rich velvet sofas and mode armchairs clothed in soft hues are arranged around white marble and brass tables.
With 20th Century dining experiences only complete with an Instagram post, Hyde Lobby Bar’s acres of white marble provide a beautiful photogenic backdrop for those all-important shots. Hyde Lobby Bar is open from 7.30am until 11 pm Monday to Friday; 9 am until 11 pm on Saturday, and 9 am until 10 pm on Sunday. Check out our Instagram to see what we got up to.
