CHANEL Cruise 2016/17 Show at the Paseo del Prado in Havana, Cuba

One of my dreams has always been to visit Cuba, still in the Castro era.  Our video of the day CHANEL Video of the Cruise 2016/17 Show at the Paseo del Prado in Havana, Cuba.  Has moved me to once again think about my  desire to go to Cuba.  The collection is an homage to Cuba and I love it.  From the shoes to dresses, it was time to salsa down the runway and witness  the fashion history that Karl Lagerfeld imagined in Cuba.

The story of the Cruise 2016/17 show in Cuba.

Karl Lagerfeld is the latest designer to look to Cuba for inspiration for the Chanel Cruise 2016/12 collection.   Fashion editors and buyers have been treated to some very exotic trips in recent seasons in order to take in luxury labels’ resort shows.  According to a release from Chanel, the “cultural richness and opening up of Cuba” has long inspired Lagerfeld, and if his past collections are any indication, there will certainly be plenty of the country’s lively, colorful flavor injected into the clothing. However, this does bring up the question of whether or not it’s insensitive for a luxury label to descend upon — and to borrow heavily from aesthetically — a country still rife with poverty?  Why I feel it was so important that the cast of models reflected the Carribean.
