#MACbackstage Hussein Chalayan  RTW Fall 2016. During Paris Fashion Week Ready to Wear Autumn Winter 2016,  we popped backstage at the  Hussein Chalayan

show where the designer teamed up with the MAC Cosmetics team and the TONI&GUY team to create the looks for the runway.  This year he went Video Vixen of the 80’s.

To a soundtrack of nosebleed techno (leavened with the odd sample of Annie Lennox singing “Missionary Man”), the first half of this collection was bravura Chalayan: a series of monochrome looks for men and women that segued into gray flannel and knits in blue and bottle green.

The model’s hair  were styled in ponytails to show off the earring made of human hair pinned to their earlobes.  The beauty muse for the show was  Yasmin Le Bon.  Her name is Rio, as the bold color blue is the color for the eye palette.

Bold and Blue is the Eye Makeup

There is something utterly fantastic about using an all blue palette and adding in some smoky in some cases to amplify the pop of color. It is sexy and dangerous at the same time, while still having some form of a mysterious ethereal aura surrounding it.  Baby blue and icy white shimmered as the shadows created an ethereal look to the Hussein Chalayan collection presented on the Paris Fashion Week runway show.
