This spectacular environment was child-friendly for an afternoon team meeting with Style Cartel Mommy and the crew.  Upon arrival at the five star Baglioni Hotel in South Kensington, we placed little Matilda in a child seat to enjoy her surroundings and stare. In anticipation of all the yummy treats that were going to be rolled out by the delightful staff of the hotel restaurant.

Afternoon teas are a team theme for us, particularly when you are a team of career women some with families and some still chasing their dreams. On many occasions, tea served alongside a nice glass of bubbles and a comfortable place to unwind is all that the ladies need.

They seated us in the window seats.  Right next to a gentleman playing a medley of jazzy tunes on the piano throughout the afternoon. We were in for a treat for this afternoon tea.  That was specially created in collaboration with luxury fragrance brand Acqua di Parma to celebrate the forthcoming Chelsea Flower Show.   Which this year is from 22nd to 26th May 2018.

The inspiration for the afternoon tea is the citrusy, fresh and sophisticated scents of Colonia, an iconic fragrance from Acqua di Parma.  As we settled in for the afternoon the cakes started to arrive, complete with the significant yellow and black branding of Acqua di Parma.. One level sweet one level savoury.  For the gluten-free and vegetarians in the group, we were delighted to be served things we could also enjoy.

The decoration was so pretty we ordered tea and started nibbling right away. All the colourful treats are inspired by the Colonia’s ingredients and its complex bouquet.   Which include citrus fruit from Sicily, lavender, bergamot, verbena and Bulgarian rose. It was a bouquet of sweet treats, along with delicious savoury sandwiches that obeyed the prime Afternoon Tea rules.

Made delicately with care, tasty and easy to eat perfection.  Fit to a Marie Antoinette afternoon tea standards.  We feasted on Lemon Cake, Lavender Meringue and Bergamot Cream, Floral Verbena and Lime Zest Panna Cotta with Rose Coulis, Violets of Parma and Sicilian Cannoli with Candied orange.

Even Matilda was licking her little fingers. In adorable little dessert pots on the top row were floral verbena and lime zest panna cotta with rose coulis and classic tiramisu. Of course, we gave her one to enjoy. It also entertained her while devouring the little pot of deliciousness.

We all needed more time because there was so much to taste on our table. Afternoon tea for two is better for four little women. Were we’re almost done nibbling on cakes and violet flavoured flower petals.  When our very lovely waiters offered us more tea and time.  Until she brought us the next course, which would be the freshly baked fruit and plain scones.

To accompany, there was Calabrian Bergamot and Mint Tea or Rose and Dried Lime Tea, the colours of which were simply marvellous.  I am a woman who loves the colour pink,  so the Rose was especially flourishing and reminded us it’s spring in London.

We are ladies who love to travel, love good service and Instagram moments, as usual at the Baglioni, was all into it too. The Italian staff genuinely enjoyed interacting with us to unveil all the delicacies chef had created. They also have the option to sit outside on the terrace opposite the park and people watch.  The day we went, unfortunately, was a normal London afternoon. The best option on a rainy day, have tea and listen to the piano man at a nice hotel.
