Entering the menswear space is Kaushik Velendra who Debuted At London Fashion Week Showcasing his CSM Graduate Menswear Collection. His collection spoke to a guy who had a little edge.
Our duty as an online magazine is to support emerging designers. This FALL-WINTER 20 / 21 there seems to be a shift moving away from luxury streetwear to more tailored looks. Mixed with a David Bowie vibe like here in the Kaushik Velendra collection .
Kaushik Velendra First London Fashion Week Presentation
The Indian designer Kaushik Velendra has been studying in CSM for the MA collection he showcased. His menswear collection which is inspired by sports details and silhouettes. The 28-year-old designer sent down the cat work a collection, which featured special heat-reacting felt, smooth shoulder pads and magnetic zips. The collection also included special shoes from Paris, created by former Christian Louboutin atelier Fred Rolland.
The shift away from luxury streetwear for many designers for me detects the change in politics. The trends from the London men’s collections want men to be ready for business in a tech-savvy manner. As Kaushik Velendra Debuts his collections, it seems he is on the same vibe. The garments looked suited both for an officer and gentlemen, which included tailoring and broad shoulders.
Kaushik Velendra Debuts FALL-WINTER 20 / 21 Collection At London Fashion Week Showcasing His CSM Graduate Menswear Collection
Kaushik Velendra positions his brand as a luxury label forging a new paradigm for menswear. At the intersection of traditional tailoring and cutting edge innovation in materials, hardware and construction. The designers graduating collection was one of the few chosen for CSM’s.
We will be watching Kaushik Velendra to see what he does next. We predict the designer is a one to watch and would love to feature in our Designer to Watch. As a stylist, I want to style one of his body armour jackets.
