How to explore New York City in two days
So, here’s our very own guide for you for the city where you get to cover it in just two days! Wondering how that can be done? Let’s take a look:
First thing first, let us make a list of the most important landmarks in the city, which an eager tourist should never miss – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, the MOMA or the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art, the Central Park and of course the iconic Times Square. So how do you fit all of these into one day?
Here’s our tour guide for each day.
Day 1 in the New York City
Well, if you reach the city early in the morning, then the first thing that you need to do is check into your hotel, freshen up and then head out to visit the Statue of Liberty. You will have to take a ferry to the island where the Statue of Liberty is located. It will take you only about 45 minutes to reach the island. Take a look around and witness the beauty of this iconic statue with your own eyes! After you are done taking a tour of the island, take your ferry back to New York City proper.
An added bonus will be if you have a means of transport at your disposal while touring through the city. If you are interested in visiting the Twin Towers memorial, then after covering the Statue of Liberty, you can head out there. There is a museum there as well, which you can take a look at. The solitude and sadness that grips the entire area is something moving, but the heartfelt gestures of people who do come to visit the memorial are something which gives hope to many. After a walk through the museum, walk down the many streets of Manhattan. It is also a shopper’s paradise. You can stop at the shop of your choicest brand and maybe grab something.
Dedicate the twilight period to Central Park. Full of people, but spaced over a large area, right in the middle of the city, it is impossible to cover the entire area of the park in one day. Take a walk, catch your breath and enjoy the beauty that this park has to offer.
From people jogging to children and adults alike enjoy the fun of ice-skating (only during the winter months), Central Park is indeed a fresh take on classic recreation. From there head out to the Empire State Building and if you wish you can climb to the topmost flower of the tower. The view of the city from there goes without saying – is amazing. Retire early and gear up for a fresh new day after!
