Inspiration
Sharon Wauchob sure knows how to make an entrance to London Fashion Week. Wauchob’s latest collection is sacred and very personal, bringing up not only memories but very touching initimate memories.
Creating and reimagining the artworks of Father Costantino Ruggeri and sourcing inspiration from American photographer Saul Leiter. Sharon also sourced inspiration from her previous collections.
Not only did she use models but as well as writers, dancers, artists, and other creatives to bring this collection alive.
“The collection is never more important than the individuals, their identity and their creativity”.
Sustainable Fashion
In case you didn’t know Sharon is an eco-conscious designer. Overall the collection nonetheless plays with the idea of conventional masculinity and femininity. Wauchob explores the ideas of new shapes with silk material, unique knotting techniques. The English craftsmanship took a challenge with this collection. Redefining dull formal shirts and giving it some grace. It is free, light and effortlessly clean cut.
To honour Sharon’s focus on her heritage and memories; BVLGARI loaned their exclusive selections from its Heritage Collection. Archival jewellery dating back to more than 130 years ago. Some of these exclusive styles were worn on icons such as Andy Warhol, Anita Ekberg, Audrey Hepburn, infamous Elizabeth Taylor and so on.
STATEMENT LOOKS
I particularly loved the silk couture fringing technique that is going on in the collection. These looks below I really admired. It has such edge, grace and elegance. It takes special craftsmanship/team to put this all in perspective and make it flattering.
