As it came down the runway Vivienne Hu’s SS20 Collection was The Girly Girl Gets Street attire. With leather and ruffles. A woman always likes a little ruffle to spice up the lookup. Aimed at the modern women and what her daily lifestyle is.
The collection and many of the guests shared the vision for the Vivienne Hu’s SS20 Collection at NYFW, and it seemed as if Hip Hop and R&B legends inspired the designer. What the designer listening to Mary J Blige and channelling a little 90’s music videos? It was Le retour des 90’s.

We are also noticing a trend out of New York. The logo T-shirt has made a come back once again. Designers are using the freedom of expression to tell a tale to express a statement. Vivienne Hu’s SS20 Collection at NYFW thoughts “Right time Right Moment” was on the T-shirt that came down the runway, that is the aesthetic for 2020 ladies and gentlemen.
Hu’s used bold textiles and sophisticated tailoring. Hu’s collection ranged from elegant and classic suit silhouettes to sexy yet sophisticated cocktail dresses. Fresh prints from the designer featured the peony flower, which embodies romance, prosperity, and good fortune.
The dynamic collection featured a variety of hues, from highly saturated colours to bold blacks and stunning metallics.
SS20 Collection NYFW
Live at the show guests were treated to a live performance from top Chinese soprano, Chang Sisi and American recording artist Elle Varner. Who opened the show with a powerful duet of “Only Wanna Give it to You,” as models walked the runway in sleek and sophisticated pieces that had smartphones on constant capture mode.
