Y/PROJECT I <3
Glenn Martens isn’t shy standing out and designing extorted garments. Diversity is the core of this brand. Today they have unveiled us their AW19 campaign. Y/PROJECT’s creative team are social and marketing geniuses. How cool it is to be a fan, own some garments and be a star in their campaign? How many times do you see that from a brand? Almost never.
The Y/PROJECT creative team went through tags and hashtags on Instagram. I sense this was endless hours of searching for your perfect 7. I wonder why 7. Is it their lucky number?
The team was looking for Y/PROJECT lovers. Fans who photographed mirror selfies, selfies in the current or past season garments. Glenn then selected 7 fans from all over the world and invited them to Paris where they would be shot for AW19 campaign.
In result, a series of collages featuring the ambassadors in their selfies in past collections they own along with their AW19 campaign shots. I feel like it is one of the coolest brands out there. They stick to their integrity. They celebrate inclusion, diversity, individuality and confidence.

I have a biased opinion towards Y/PROJECT
Glenn marks individuality in this campaign and as far as the clothes I cannot see anything I wouldn’t wear. He re-examines the traditional silhouette and makes it into this exaggerated almost theatrical garments. Other designers need to take a look at Glenn and the team. He is young but extremely talented and untraditional yet practical. I am looking forward to Women’s SS2020. I wonder what will Glenn cook up this season.
