As an adolescent, Selah Marley called many places home – including New Jersey, Miami, Los Angeles, tour buses and hotels. Marley was very comfortable with the ability to make a home anywhere. Marley often considered herself an artist of various disciplines ranging from motion picture to sound and art. Marley finds it difficult to subscribe to one title,” If I will [give myself a title], it will be one that holds a bandwidth that can encompass the entirety of myself. I’m still in the process of understanding myself and creating a direction for myself, so too many, my process seems chaotic, but I’d at least consider it to be organized chaos.” -Selah Marley
A Primordial Place is a sensory art-installation and experience in which guests will be immersed into the collective conscience of 19-year-old artist and model, Selah Marley. Emphasizing greenery and nature in a space that many consider The Concrete Jungle. The concept will allow guests to escape New York and find their Zen as BKLYN Studios is transformed into an art landscape.
The experience will open the viewers to the delicate, but beautiful nature of wildlife and botany, typically only experienced in a dream or getaway.
I attended Selah Marley’s first art installation in Brooklyn, NY. I experienced the beautiful nature of wildlife. Living in this concrete jungle, it’s hard to getaway. It was a real botanical experience. Selah wanted everyone to feel at ease, calm, and very clear minded. Selah, you left me with a piece of you.
