Rising Star Hayett B Mccarthy
I started to notice Hayett B Mccarthy backstage at the LeMaire show during Paris Fashion Week. This rising star is a face to watch. I do not know why she is so interesting to me. She looks like so many people, I cannot put my finger on it and she has attitude, after watching her maneuver backstage. This rare beauty has only been in the game for little over a year. Her name also intrigues me. The 21-year-old model was scouted at a pub in Crouch End last in the midst of an “intense pre-break up conversation with her ex”. She was born in Lyon to her French Algerian mother and English father. You can tell she is North African by her looks, she looks like a berber crossed with a viking.
Fashion is for ever-changing and we are always on the hunt for the next big “cool girl,” and McCarthy is the latest in a long line of nonchalant beauties with idiosyncratic looks. Her waist-length hair and Roman nose give her an unmistakable presence in photos, and she’s already making the rounds in indie publications like Another Magazine and Self Service. Add in the Christopher Bailey stamp of approval—she appears in Burberry’s Pre-Fall lookbook—and you have a girl poised for greatness.
Hayett McCarthy Paid Tribute To David Bowie On The Burberry Runway
This lover of fashion made her mark at the Burberry show after David Bowie died. On the last day of the London Collections: Mens shows, model Hayett McCarthy walked down Burberry Prorsum’s runway at Kensington Gardens. As she approached the photographers at the end of the catwalk, the model revealed the word “Bowie,” written on the palms of her hands. McCarthy’s display was not a planned element of the runway show, but rather “her own personal tribute to the musician,” This definitely made her a “cool girl,” in our books. She would go on to walk Maxmara in Milan, Vetements, Aalto, Carven, Lemaire, Wanda Nylon in Paris.
