We popped over to London for fashion week, but we had to sneak off for a girls night out and to check out potential date night spots like Dstrkt London. In today’s world everyone hardly has time to meet someone. I am a hopeless romantic and still feel that you can meet someone the old fashion way not via a dating application. So StyleCartel went in search of a Cartel Hangout and ended up at the DSTRKT in the heart of London and off Piccadilly Circus. You might ask why? I am the kind of lady who likes to start a date off with drinks, then move to the main course which is diner. If I like the gentlemen, then on to the dance floor, if I want to get the man’s heart racing before I say good night. Oh yes, I am a good girl and there is no sex on the first date. If you give him something to think about he will come back for more. That is why we choose Dstrkt, we want to see for ourselves if this place was the complete package for a Cartel Hangout nomination.
The Lounging Hotspot Dstrkt London
Dstrkt London opened its doors in 2011 as an exclusive restaurant and lounge in the heart of London. Piccadilly, Soho central location provide a flawless backdrop for the ambient venue, which has grown into one of the city’s most charming spots over the past years. The venue continues to attract an elite crowd from across the globe and its reputation has rapidly matured. Today DSTRKT is widely regarded as one of London’s most exclusive entertainment venues and now one of our Places To Go On a First Date in London. We first heard about the venue because, celebrities seemed to always be hanging out here when in town. So the ladies and I put on our Red bottoms and headed out on a Thursday night to see what the restaurant and lounge had to offer.
The restaurant is set on very attractive split level surroundings offering a wide range of sushi, modern European dishes, based on a sharing concept, in addition to an array of various charcoal grilled dishes. This is a late bar venue, with its own in-house DJ’s. The newly refurbished Dstrkt London came in August 2014 with a new state of the art interior. The brand new venue with distinctive design sweeps across an engaging two-level space, sets once again a new benchmark of opulence, modern, and sensory haven for London’s nightlife. DSTRKT London has welcomed the likes Snoop Dog, Drake, Afrojack, , The Weeknd, Wiz Khalifa, Inna, LMFAO, Sean Paul, P Diddy and many more to its stage. The grandeur of an evening that envelops a clique of your most sophisticated partygoers, with the hottest celebrity guests and A-list music acts can be regularly found in the dark plaid walls of DSTRKT London.
We started at the bar where we tried out the mouth-watering cocktails. One of my favorites Rosemary Lavander Blossom cocktail made with fresh Rosemary & Lavander shaken with house Tanqueray gin, violet liquor & sweetened lime cordiale. I could have cool drink and stay relaxed at the same time. The ladies went for traditional cocktails like an amaretto sour and another in-house cocktail called the Kiuri made with fresh cucumber, kiwis & raspberries muddled together & shaken with Hendrick gin, and elderflower cordiale. After flirting with the bar staff we moved over to the dining room for some fresh sushi, tempura and brown rice. Our conversation over dinner was about boys of course and a healthy lifestyle.
We all started working out last year, so that our New Year’s resolutions were to get fit, so why we choose wisely from the menu. We shared the Spicey Tuna and Fish Plater, which had salmon shrimps, and cod-fish. We wanted to have fun, but still not go overboard with unhealthy food. More talk of boys and mature women dating younger men, lead to more flirting with the wait staff. I was happy that I could practice my Italian! We got naughty with the boys and desert. We decided not to share, we all had our own deserts then ended the night by working off the calories on the dance floor upstairs. We recommend DSTRKT for a first date because looking around there was no competition, and plenty of space for intimate moments and fun. The food was extremely good, and we loved the sharing concept and the open kitchen where you could see your sushi being made right in front of your eyes. The staff was charming and very attentive. This place ticked all the boxes for Places to Go on a First Date in London.
