I always feel that taking a summer holiday on the cusp of fall is one of the best times to travel. This time around we decided to head to Turkey and discover a country rich in tradition and history. As usual we wanted to get a taste of everything, plan of action stay in many different hotels and hotspots, to get a feel for the country and its in habitants. The adventure started at the Peradays Istanbul Bed & Breakfast Paradise in Istanbul, Turkey. The hotel is modern with a house cat named Daisy and Turkish flare. When traveling in Turkey you will always have to get by the neighbourhood cats. Peradays is located in the historic district of Beyoğlu situated on the European side of Istanbul, Turkey. The area was known as Pera from the Middle Ages up until the early 20th century and is the most active art, entertainment and night life centre of Istanbul. This is where they get the name.
Travel Tuesday| Peradays Bed & Breakfast Paradise in Istanbul-Review
Originally built-in the 19th Century, the Peradays Istanbul building was converted into a top-notch boutique hotel featuring all the modern comforts one would need plus the lovely smiles of the staff and the warm welcome of Murat Argon, the hotel manager. As soon as you arrive he is there to welcome you. He and the house cat Daisy, invite you for some turkish tea, classic american rock and roll, the smooth sounds of Nina Simone, small talk and a lot of purring. The hotel’s location is fantastic for sight seeing across the city, we found everything in walkable distance or easily accessible by tram, essentials to our Travel Tuesday section.
The minimal styled boutique hotel has everything to offer when looking for comfort and convince. Near by you can eat with locals, hear the call to pray from the local mosque and look out on to the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. If you need suggestions Murat is always willing to chat and lead you in the right direction. This location is easy to navigate and close to the tram that takes to all the tourist attractions like The Sultan Ahmed Mosque or Sultan Ahmet Mosque is a historic mosque in Istanbul. The mosque is popularly known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior. As well as the my favorite the Grand Bazar. The Peradays staff treated us like family, they were very helpful and hospitable: providing service with a smile, small talk, near to perfect in the hotels rooms and gave restaurant suggestions. They also arranged transfers to and from the hotel and always asked if we had everything we needed.
Breakfast is traditional Turkish breakfast, that was very Mediterranean and introduced us to new turkish delights together with more small talk about Turkish life. In entrance level is a communal dinning area common where there are books for a lazy day or pamphlets on what to do and see in Istanbul culturally. Peradays hotel features 9 different suites each with their own unique style.
The rooms include flat screen HD televisions, air-conditioning, communal library, and more. You can also enjoy the terrace on the top floor where you can enjoy your morning meal or take in Turkey’s legendary golden sunset.Overall a relaxing and marvellous stay at the Peradays Istanbul and a great starting point to get used to the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. If you must take a taxi, only take them at night or else you will be stuck in traffic most of the time, its seems as if they taxi drivers are used to hit so at least they are still nice.
