For StyleCartel our summer starts in Paris with Haute Couture. One of the highlights for me was the Rami Al Ali Haute Couture A/W 13/14 presentation. Rami Al Ali Haute Couture A/W 13/14 is made of for Red Carpet memories and for those special occasion drop dead looks.
The Syrian native, Dubai based couturier unveiled his stunning Haute Couture A/W 13/14 presentation to an intimate viewing audience. I am happy to report the designer was welcoming and as sweet as can be. The revolutionary works of Gustav Klimt, inspired the designer. One of my wedding presents from my husband was the “Kiss” by Gustav Klimt. It was a pleasure to witness the designer’s fourth unveiling in Paris and to know that Gustav Klimt was the inspiration for the collection.
Rami ’s innovative designs plus his inspiration from Gustave, and the love both have for the female form helped to develop a collection that defines a new level of intimacy and eroticism. The key painting taken for inspiration was the “Golden Phase.” If you know anything about Gustav is that the painter loved to use the color gold and so does Rami. He also used Rustic shades of lavender, gold, silver, old rose and vintage champagne. Fabrics extend the opulence of the theme as a delicate blend of modern lace, soft and diaphanous tulle, chiffon and silk organza to balance out the intensity of the metallic textiles.
The collection consisted of narrow waists, A-line shapes and full-bodied skirts that manifest the feminine ideals of Klimt’s masterpieces. J’adore! Silhouettes are long and flowing with clean, elegant necklines embodying a very lady like refinement. Three-quarter length gowns complete with full-length sleeves give a women a touch of 50s glamour, with sheer fabrics and deep necklines add the risqué element. For added glamour we can see the Klimt’s paradoxical graphic geometric shapes are seen within Al Ali’s detailing, with intricate embroidery and elaborate embellishments.
Many of todays favorite celebrities, models and royals like Kerry Washington, Kelly Rowland, and Petra Nemcova choose to wear Rami Al Ali for Red Carpet moments and special occasions.
