The Diesel Women New Design Team Headed By Heikki Salonen

It is the re-birth of slick with the SS12 Diesel women’s collection. The history remains, but a completely new design team and a new Head of Womenswear design is in place with London’s Fashion East and NewGen designer Heikki Salonen. What does she have in store for us Ladies?  A new fit and new attitude for The Diesel Women’s line.

The SS12 Pre collection, and all collections moving forward, shall be built on core Diesel values but with improved silhouettes in a modernised, strengthened and re-energized way, bringing together the best of the label’s heritage. It’s a collection aimed at grown-up women – aged 25-35, brave, sexy and playful, with a real attitude. Now your talking women of this age don’t want to dress like their little sisters.

The collections are based on a modern day capsule female wardrobe, incorporating premium basics and key stand out pieces which work with, and interchange seamlessly to fit the style and mood of any woman, with every occasion taken into consideration. Her swag a nice pair of jeans, sweater, biker jacket and leather pants go anywhere and everywhere with you.

This isn’t just about a one-off collection; it’s about building the foundations for a whole new approach to how women dress in Diesel. It’s about creating new, but instantly iconic pieces that use ever-higher quality fabrics, with improved finishes, new silhouettes and better-fitting shapes, including a new 5-pocket denim collection which has been narrowed down to just 6 perfect fits, completely re-designed to flatter women’s bodies.

Diesel’s SS 2012 Preview is not just another collection; it’s a new start for Diesel and for Diesel women. This is their way of showing their dedication to rewriting the story of womenswear and redefining what it means to be a woman through the eyes of a new and inspired design team where Diesel remains the Home of the Brave and the European style cut in denim.
