Rainforest Spa at The Jalousie Plantation Sugar Beach, St Lucia opens December 20, 2010 just in time for your winter holiday in the Caribbean. The atmospherics of the spa blend traditional St Lucian culture, a strong Caribbean aesthetic and experience, with modern techniques and sensibilities. The Rainforest Spa will provide high touch experiences that are indicative and respectful of the local environment and the ritual and palette of the island. Most importantly, these treatments and experiences will yield results.
- 7 treehouse treatment gazebo’s

- 1 earthen steam room warmed by volcanic spring water. (NB:This room is known as a Temascal, which is an Amerindian steam room in the form of a stone dome which the Indians built and used for health and religious purposes. The facility was recommended to the owner of The Jalousie Plantation, Roger Myers who then travelled to the highland mountains on the border of Guatemala and Honduras to experience this treatment. As a result, we have incorporated this traditional structure in our design. These structures can be found in the Eastern Caribbean but in volcanic islands such as St Lucia, they were usually incorporated into caves.)

Architects: Lane Pettigrew of LPA International Inc. and the owner of The Jalousie Plantation Sugar Beach, Roger Myers, have been entirely responsible for the design and concept of the new Rainforest Spa.
The international product lines used at the new Rainforest Spa will be wholly organic and treatment oriented to achieve maximum results. Among the lines selected is Environ, a natural organic range fromSouth Africa.Environ® skin care products have been formulated to combat and relieve the harmful effects of the harsh climatic changes of today’s environment. The Environ® products offer a definite regime to nourish, protect and maintain a healthy, youthful and beautiful skin. Each product is made from the highest quality ingredients. They are mostly free from fragrance, preservatives, colorants and animal extracts. Environ® is the concept of Dr Desmond Fernandes, a highly specialised plastic surgeon who pioneered the use of intensive vitamin therapy for the skin.
The Rainforest Spa also features a range of body treatments using organic products from Academie France. Academie skin care products are recognised world-wide as a guarantee for reliable, highly effective skin care. Academie of Paris includes many specific skin treatment products for the eyes, neck, and body which are the results of scientific studies constantly extended and updated in order to keep pace with the latest developments in cosmetology.
In addition to the luxury international treatments offered, The Jalousie Plantation Sugar Beach will also continue offering the all-natural rituals the spa has become known for including the resort’s signature Sulphur Seduction which harnesses all of the benefits of the nearby Sulphur Springs and volcano, as well as the all-natural body scrubs and wraps which utilize fruits and herbs grown right on the estate.
The spa will utilises homegrown, St Lucian products from Green Papaya. The Rainforest Spa has also introduced an all-new bamboo massage. This deep tissue treatment is based on the techniques of Swedish massage but utilizes bamboo sticks in relaxing and soothing movements. The three sizes of bamboo are used in this treatment to perfectly fit the body’s contours and provide a deep revitalizing treatment. Lotus flower is used for purity and perfection, water lily for softening and soothing.
