Hermés Objects of desire for Autumn/ Winter 2011

Hermés is best known for their accessories at the press day we were able to to review the Autumn/ Winter 2011 collection. The collection was spot on trend with ethnic inspired pieces that I love, they also went trendy and showed scares with a graffiti print.

Graff Hermés silk scarf is one of my favorites in the collection Designed by Kongo. Street art gets silky. Hermés lets Kongo, an internationally renewed graffiti artist, work his magic. He uses silk twill as s a concrete wall, creating a bold, bright and beautiful design with vibrant splashes of colour.

The CosMogonie Apache Shawl speaks to the blood the runs through my veins. This Shawl made of cashmere and silk is Designed by Antoine Tzapoff. This all enveloping giant shawl plunges you into the symbolic world of the White Apaches Mountains. Crested with the bald eagle and falcon feathers, a proud warrior is surrounded by the cosmic presence of his deities, whilst four ceremonial masks stand out against a backdrop inspired by dancer’s body paint.

Color Blocking continues for fall with these Lacquered Wood bangles by Hermés. These bangles are examples of Hermés enamel craftsmanship and come in an array of colors and can be paired with any of the Hermés signature scarves. Simple two tone harmonies for those cheerful bangles whose curves glisten with both vibrant and soft hues, highlighted by the depth and shine of lacquer.

Bracelets in Printed Enamel by Hermés. The patterns are inspired by the parade jacket with its decorative cords as well as the four-sided stud, come in soft, nuanced harmonies or bright contrasting colors. The cuff is still the ‘It’ cuff to have by Hermés.

For Fall 2011 we will see the return of the Hat. It is the season to show your personal style and accessories your out-fit with a hat. This hat, with its wide asymmetric brim, subtly accentuated with a tone-on-tone lambskin plait and decorated with two pompoms, gives felt a new twist.

And if you just want a little Hermés for everyday these bracelets and rings in Rose Gold are the perfect touch. The equestrian and sailing worlds come together to form a lightweight ring round which the house’s iconic links dance and shine on your wrist and hands. Some versions are also available in white gold and diamonds.
