Fashion Designer Alexander Wang’s New Concept Store in New York

Soho in New York is one of the cities mecca’s for high end brands to open a shop that speaks to its clients. Alexander Wang is now the New Kid on the Block in the neighborhood.

Alexander Wang’s very first concept store opened in SoHo this week. To kick things off the designer had a launch party with only 100 guest invited, so this was a hot ticket to have. Of course fashion editor gone blogger Anna Dello Russo was one of the first to arrive wearing the blush-colored satin asymmetrical slip dress and angora sweater paired with gold heels from Alex’s just-shown Fall 2011 collection (look #35) You would think that Ms. Dello Russo would be getting the most attention but the spotlight was stolen by Wang’s niece, a toddler making her way through the crowd wearing pink earphones.

Wang was asked about his inspiration for the store , "It’s basically like my apartment," a clash of Parisian glamour and New York minimalism.

Pierre Hermé macarons first time made out of Paris, France for the occasion.

For those who know how to party Wang style, know that the party does not kick of until after midnight. The guest who lingered on had the treat of the one and only Lauryn Hill performing live for them. Before Lauryn arrived, DJ Spankrock was spinning a little Outkast and Pharcyde. Now that sounds like my kinda of Party. Think my next ‘IT Bag ‘ is going to have to be a Wang one.
