The Amy Molyneaux Project with the Nissan Cube
StyleCartel had the chance to catch up with Amy and Percy of PPQ. We chatted about the past, present and future of the label. They told us about Fashion week in Russia and Amsterdam, but they would not tell us much about the up coming collection, just that it would be full of surprises as always.
What is your favorite city in the world and why?
London is our favorite City, we are a London label. The environment here encourages the growth of new ideas and allows new business to start up and exist and influence along side conglomerates and well established brands .
What is next for you career wise?
We are about to show our S/S 11 collection during London fashion week .
Do you understand social media?
Our label is based around a very social network, the events attached to our shows is often where new ideas are developed and we meet new and interesting people. Social media supports this lifestyle, so yes we understand it from grass routes up .
Who is your favorite blogger?
Vagabondia is our favorite blog, we love her mix of high brow humor set against feminine delicate style observations and fun happening new things.
What is playing on your I-tunes right now?
Its a mix of Dolly Parton, Squeeze, ESG, Ariel’s Pink haunted Graffiti and A tribe called Quest.
What is your favorite location for a road trip and what would you drive?
Anywhere that is less than an hour outside of London and means you are in the countryside is good right now as we are so busy in the studio
A favorite is Stoke Park Club in Stoke Pogues
The Nissan Cube Looks thoroughly modern amongst the Bentley’s in the car park there.
Tell us a bit more about your design on the Cube and your collaboration with Nissan. Why did you choose the Cube?
The Cube is so roomy inside, we can hang all the patterns in the back, fit at least 5 rolls of fabric and two assistants in one.
What is your star sign? Amy – Taurus Percy – Libra
What is your worst fashion moment?
When my whole Graduate collection got stolen …then I realized it was insured and the compensation paid for a new selling collection to be made
What is the next big thing in fashion in your opinion?
I’m very much leaning toward a resurgence of the polo neck
People either live in them of are petrified, but I always tell them…Darling, your wearing two sizes too small, no wonder it’s choking you.
