La Belle Epoque A/W 2010
This Autum/Winter is going to be great to be a curvy girl, if Marc Jacobs or Miuccia Prada have their way. Their collections were all about loving your curves and that voluptuous silhouette figure.
The mews for both collections where Brigitte Bardot and Catherine Deneuve late 50′s early 60′s pre hippy error. Marc Jacobs entitled his collection “And God Created Woman” and his runway was vava voom. It was the celebration of the full figured women like a parade of the Les Demoiselles d’Avignon by Pablo Picasso.
At Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs sent down the runway full skirts, and pinch-waists. Paris chic with a touch of winter flannels, tartans, corduroys, and lacy fur. It was the runway of show work with what your mama gave you.
Prada praises womanhood by sending down the runway skirts and and knee-length dresses that flatter the body and curves. With vintage wallpaper prints, thick tweeds and chunky cable-knits, and for the less well-endowed, ruffle tops.
