Make it while you Fake it

Lytess Slim Wear

Remember when we dressed for our shape and wore things that made us look slimmer, faked it till you made it? Well that was a thing of the past as now there are items of clothing that actually help you lose the weight! Genius-ness! First of all we had Fit Flops; the miracle slip-on that helped to tone your thighs and buttocks (hehe, does anyone else think that’s one of the funniest words in the dictionary? I digress.) and all one had to do was, wait for it, walk! They also claim to alleviate back pains and improve your posture and they even have 36 months of scientific data to back it up… I have my doubts still.

However, if you’re not as cynical as I am there’s another piece of apparel to add to your wardrobes, and perhaps just in time to combat the extra pounds in time for the upcoming fashion weeks. LYTESS has released a range of slimming leggings, capris and shorts that claim to help you drop centimeters off your hips and thighs in just three weeks. I’ll admit they are revolutionary as they are the first brand to have created a slimming product that can be worn as outerwear. They are also apt for the season as shorts were a common trend on the catwalks for S/S 2010, seen on the runways of Derek Lam, Marc Jacobs and a leather quilted version a la Alex Wang. How does it claim to tone your thighs you might ask? The dual treatment shorts are ‘micro-encapsulated’ and slowly release caffeine, which helps to combat cellulite and break down fat, as well as Shea Butter which helps to moisturise the skin.

I’m still sceptical but if anyone does try it out please send us a review. You might just make a believer out of me.

Lytess is available from Figleaves and prices range from £40 for the shorts to £50 for the leggings.

SuspiciousCat is suspicious of fitflops. Even if they did work, you'd have skinny legs and a skinny ass, but a flabby upper body. There is no miracle cure to looking good. It's all about diet, exercise and good clothing :)
