Bryce d’Anice Aime whispers on Walton Street…
Walton street has seen new incomers recently, among them: Bryce d’Anice Aime. For the French born designer the Style Whispering crew had to come and celebrate on the evening of the store opening. In this very niche neighbourhood, ladies would soon start to shout but we were decided to whisper and give you the It list of his AW09 collection. French but new born Londoner, Bryce established his label at LFW in 2006, so I was playing around and feeling at home. A minimalist design, an open space, a smiling manager and you have a store where the clothes are the celebrities.
I have to admit when I came at 7pm on a Friday after a full day of work, I was not really in my optimum shopping mood. However multi-buckle leather wrists and leg cuffs brought me back on track. A cup of tea to get warm, a couple of minutes to browse the rags and there we were with Kristin pulling off our winter rainy clothes for burlesque outfits: let’s start the show !
Metallic fabrics, ruffles, triffles underline a burlesque inspired collection : more Dita Von Teese than Jane Birkin.
I was to change, from my boyish attitude:
I would become a starlette on stage !
Bryce’s designs are not for free, you need to perform and deserve them. As a discerning woman I am sensitive to the luxurious appeal of fabrics, to details such as buttons and embroideries. Defined cuts, precised finishes could only convince me more that I should add the wet look/ high shine black dress, the silk printed shirt, the ankle boots to my basket.
Kristin, on her end picked a New Yorker broadway look : rocking the streets of the city with a mini frill skirt, über-skinny grey pants paired with skyscraper heels…check her perfomance on www.theclotheswhisperer.blogspot.com
And if you should be far away from the store or have a special request the collection is available to order made-to-measure from Bryce’s showroom. How good is that ?
You have no excuse or all the excuses to invest in great design, super quality and genuine fabric.
As the show must go on, I cannot wait for his SS10 collection to hit the store !
