Benefit Celebutante palette

Benefit Celebutante palette

These days, I’ve got make-up on my mind and there are so many options to chose from that my make-up case and handbag often ressemble something that would be quite at home as a Sephora stock room.

Benefit’s clever packaging and play-on-word names has always held a certain fascination for me. For the holidays, there are two kits that I’m positively in love with and which will be put to excellent use come party time later in the year.

The first one is encased in a purple and gold quilted clutch design and is touted as a “personal stylist makeup kit”, which is an excellent description, it’s packed with small versions of most of Benefit’s wonderful products: high beam, benetint (the wonderful lip & cheek tint), a gloss in I’m with the band (gold pink shimmer), two lipsticks in Lady’s choice (nude) and No competition (dark plum), two eyeshadows in eggy (pinkish nude satin) and dandy brandy (copper), and the dallas powder, as well as two brushes.

And the name? Ooh, this is what tickled me pink: Celebutante. Everything you need to “do” your face on the go, which includes Benefit’s usual how-to if you have any doubts. My favourites is the dark plum lipstick and dallas, which gives me a subtle just-back-from-outdoor look – although sexy Thrrrob still has my heart.

The second new set that got my attention is the Powderazzi three face powder set. Packed in the same purple & gold quilted packaging as Celebutante, it offers three mini versions of CORALista, dallas (again) and hoola. If you hadn’t wanted to commit to the larger sizes, this is perfect to sample Benefit’s wonderful powders. What’s more, they’re both perfect for travel, owing to their small sizes and relative thinness.
