Once upon a time on Ledbury road…
When Canada is coming into town. Maeve Doyle, a Canadian born woman driven by her passion for Fashion, Art and Design is about to open her Art Gallery in our beloved Notting Hill.
Across the street from the BBB, DOYLE DEVERE, a new space dedicated to Art , will from November 10th present Raif Adelberg’s original photographs. Already well known in the US, Raif Adelberg uses various medium to create and express his vision of the Pop Culture. From designing clothes to photography and paintings, Raif’s work is not to be reduced to one concept or idea.
The All I have are my dreams Collection featured in the exhibition that Maeve has put together requires you to be judges of Art. Raif is giving you the opportunity to analyse your feelings and make up your mind on what is surrounding us. His clothes, paintings, photos start a conversation that you have to follow, there is not an ultimate medium for Raif to claim his view. It is for us to complete the puzzle.
All I have are my dreams is a patriotic Clowntography, a clown wraped in the US flag expressing different feelings.
A flag is a symbol of a union or should I say re-union of people that claim to have the same culture, how true or false is this?
If a flag represents a culture it has often lost its humanity. Therefore the clown seems to add some feelings to what have become a reason to fight for more than a reason to gather and to share.
Who better than a clown could reveal the sadness and irony of our culture that divides us. If you look close enough at the clown’s face, you might see a tear… or maybe is it just me having an illusion?
However, I am actually listening to my feelings and this is what it is all about.
As a cultural fashionista, I fell in love with his Revenge Fuck Collection, the reworked military jacket reveals the paradox of army clothes, made to fight as well as symbolising the official social order.
DOYLE DEVERE presents All I have are my dreams, original photographs by Raif Adelberg.
