A designer fashion sale like no other

Gladrags & Handbags started yesterday night in The Music Room on South Molton Street, London. Camila Batmanghelidjh, Kids Company Founder and Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou Creative/Fashion Director of Harper’s Bazaar have joined their forces to set up this charity event meant to support the Christmas activities at Kids Company.

I was lucky to be invited to the opening ceremony and was surprised by the quality of the clothes on the rags. Designers have really bought into the project and supplied with some must-haves at an unbelievable price. A table full of Louboutins, yes CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN pumps and stilettos for only £100 a pair, a silk YSL shirt next to a one-off sample Ashish sequin dress. Bags were not left out, with a table pilling handbags such as Chloe and Jimmy Choo. It was definitely the time to put your hands on the Manolos you have dreamed off, an Alexander McQueen silk dress or a Philip Treacy hat…The greatest thing of all is that the proceeds will help support the Kids Company. Celebrities such as Chris Martin from Coldplay were there to show their support.

One thing to do this weekend is definitely to hit the Music Room. Remember if the festive season is about to start, it is also about giving and helping those in needs. Why not buy some of your gifts and give twice at once?…if you will make your friend, husband, wife, children happy, you will also give the opportunity to some kids to celebrate Christmas.
