Fashion in Motion with Giles Deacon

Giles Deacon is a latest Avant-garde designer to be the focus of the V&A’s next Fashion in Motion. On Friday 17 July 2009, Deacon will show a selection of his favourite pieces in a series of free catwalk shows in the V&A’s Raphael Gallery.

Deacon ‘s career started after graduating from Central Saint Martins in 1992, Giles Deacon worked with Jean Charles de Castelbajac in Paris, at Bottega Veneta and with Tom Ford at Gucci in Milan before launching his own label ‘Giles’ in 2004. He is one of the highlights of London Fashion week.

Since 2007 Deacon has collaborated with the high street fashion shop, New Look, to create his signature line for the high street. In 2007 Deacon was awarded ‘British Designer of the Year’.

Deacon’s signature style is welled crafted with just enough edge mixed with imaginative design approach, and staying close to the street with references to pop-culture. Giles Deacon is a fashion DJ of our time.
