It was a pleasure to enjoy a fashion show in London, but the pleasure was all mines when I was able to meet the designer behind the line AVSH ALOM GUR at the trade show in Paris. On a rainy Sunday afternoon in Paris at the Tranoi show off of George V
I was able to get the inside on the inspiration for the collection. I felt like I was also a mews for the collection on this rainy day in Paris with my grandmother’s pearls and vintage scarf on my head.
The A/W 09/10 collection was inspired by Eastern European folk art and the decadence of ‘The King and I.’ The designer conjures up an imaginary party with clothes for its guest. He gives great ideas on how to turn old into new. We shared secrets because the designer used techniques that my own grandmother used to cover up wholes in clothes embroidery!
I have to say if I had to choose I prefer trade show because it has a personal touch. Is the runway scedule goining to be a global cut? Credit Crunch went down the runway on a few pieces of the collection, so like I said it was refreshing to me AVSH on a persoanl level. Which showed desire to grow the business even with the credit crunch this is fashion baby!
