Veronique Branquinho appointed new Artistic Director at the House of Delvaux

Internationally renowned Belgian designer Veronique Branquinho is the new Artistic Director at Delvaux. It was announced on Saturday 7 March during her fashion show in Paris. Everyone with a seat assignments was honored with their own white Delvaux leather envelope from the letters collection. Great to put little bits in and one of fashion weeks best gifts.

The House of Delvaux is one of the oldest luxury leather goods company in the world. Like most Luxury companies they want to keep in touch with their target clients, but yet want to innovate the brand and speak to the new generation of luxury clients. This is the determiner behind many brands desire to work with edgy designers. VB will be developing her own diverse collections of handbags and accessories for Delvaux.

The show it self oohed Luxury with a return to French elegance. The collection was reminiscent of old Paris and Yves Saint Laurent classic ‘Le Smoking’ tuxedo pants suits with one skinny pant leg and the other wide leg. Luckily VB remembers that we are in a credit crunch by sticking to the colors of A/W 08-09 season, warm whites, ivory,Grey tones, pepper, oyster. Now all we have to do is add pieces to our existing wardrobes to spice it up.

A/W 2009-2010 inspiration derives from images of a warm blooded ice-queen. The collection is made for a femme fatal in touch with her femmine side, but still giving us the sexy androgynous looks. Attention to detail are reminiscent of the splendor of couture evening wear. The handbags are made in collaboration for Delvaux.
Can’t a girl dream….
